Communication Committee
The Communications Committee was formally established by the National Steering Committee in 2012. The creation of this committee followed from the approval by membership of National Steering Committee in November 2012.
Mission And Goals
The purpose of the committee is to manage the publicity activities of the movement as a way to share information among members of Branches and to coordinate outreach and advocacy activities as a way to connect with Ba Ga Mohlala Community at large, Trustees members, and others among the general public with an interest in the preservation and use of historical records.
Operations
The Committee Is Responsible For The Following Activities:
Manage and assess the ongoing development of Ba Ga Mohlala’s use of social media (including the Twitter feed, WhatsApp and Facebook page etc.)
Manage and assess Ba Ga Mohlala’s existing and future publications, including the Direto, Pictures taken, and publications that may result from conference sessions and Branch Gatherings
Seek and implement new means of communicating with members and non-members as needed.
Solicit feedback as needed on Ba Ga Mohlala communication and outreach initiatives.
Provide marketing for Ba Ga Mohlala publications and social media accounts.
Coordinate advertising and exhibiting at appropriate meetings within the CC.
Oversee Ba Ga Mohlala branding.
Insure that content on Ba Ga Mohlala website is accurate and current.
Advise Branches and their committees on matters related to Ba Ga Mohlala.
Membership
The Committee consists of up to 2-4 members appointed by the Branches. The committee members should have experience with or an interest in outreach activities and should reflect the diversity of the Ba Ga Mohlala at large. Committee members shall serve two-three year terms, and they may be reappointed for a second term.
